Experience Required:

Experience of supporting people including individuals with mental health care needs.
Experience of multi-agency working
Experience of transition working and completing assessments
Experience of networking and liaising with a wide range of agencies
Experience of organising and prioritising own work
Experience of evaluating, monitoring and reviewing services
A qualification at Level 3 or above in a related field and/or a willingness to work towards achieving a level 5 Diploma in health and Social Care
Good verbal communication skills and ability to listen to listen sensitively to others
Good written communication skills
Client interviewing and assessment skills
Ability to solve problems creatively
Ability to negotiate with individuals and groups from all backgrounds
Basic numeracy skills
Ability to facilitate and mediate within groups
Ability to motivate and provide leadership to the staff team to secure high standards of performance from all staff

Ability to devise effective individual support plans in conjunction with service users and other agencies
Ability to carry out a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s needs
Ability to supervise staff effectively ensuring full accountability to the agency
Experience of networking and liaising with a wide range of agencies
Ability to put into practice the aims and principles of Creative Support in a meaningful way
Ability to develop and implement the Equal Opportunities Policy of Creative Support
Ability to offer appropriate support to people under stress
Knowledge of supported living and the recovery model
Awareness of current approaches and good practice in the provision of support for people with mental health needs.
Understanding of the different factors and processes which ensure a high quality service
Basic knowledge of welfare benefits and tenancy support
Demonstrable understanding of mental health needs (including signs and symptoms, treatment approaches and interventions)
An understanding of, and commitment to, Positive Behaviour Support models.
2 years’ experience of mental health care and support work including voluntary roles or placements
A warm and positive approach to staff and service users and the ability to demonstrate a supportive hands- on management style
A hardworking and resourceful approach to work
Willingness to work flexible hours according to needs of the service
Willingness to attend training courses and events
Willingness to participate in regular supervision with line manager

Hours of Work:

Full time hours are 37.5 per week. To be worked flexibly on a rota which will include evenings, weekends and public holidays according to the needs of the service.
