Job Summary
The Senior support worker will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day provision of a high quality support programme to substance misusing clients’, families and the community. This involves supporting individuals and or groups with the objective of assisting them to change, improve, understand addiction and manage their life situations in order to maintain an abstinent lifestyle and develop their ability to support themselves in communities without recourse to substance misuse or negative behavioural traits.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
The following is not an exhaustive list of duties but an overview of the work required.
1. Undertake all duties and responsibilities in accordance with:
- The Company’s policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines and standards
- Good professional practice and the Company’s Quality Assurance strategy
- CQC and other regulatory requirements
- Relevant legislation
- All legal and contractual obligations, Particularly in relation to information governance, confidentiality, diversity, health & safety and medication control as defined from time to time
2. Oversee and or conduct effective intake, assessment and discharge interventions.
3. Assist the therapeutic team to carry out accurate, complete and timely risk management planning and reviews in conjunction with external third parties where appropriate.
4. Ensure clients observe the programme’s rules and support the manager in investigating and taking action where these may have been breached including substance testing.
5. Provide advice, information and support to clients including referral to aftercare services that focus on maintaining an abstinent lifestyle.
6. Oversee the Maintenance of accurate client records and databases and provide statistics for management and to assist with service evaluation in a timely fashion.
7. Assist in the transfer of individuals between agencies and services.
8. Support clients with the prompting of their medication, conduct accurate and timely medication audits and maintain accurate medication records
9. Oversee the Maintenance of a clean, orderly and safe building.
10. Complete general administration duties
11. Work with clients to produce appropriate and achievable recovery plans to help them address their identified needs
12. Ensure residents attend external appointments in line with their care plan by supporting them to access transport or accompanying them if necessary.
13. Assist in the day-to-day operation of services by working with clients, enabling them to cope with practical aspects of daily living (life skills, benefits, housing).
14. Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required by the Line Manager and/or the Senior Management Team or Directors.
