The Role:
We are looking for 4 dedicated, patient, and resilient Support Workers to assist a client with an acquired brain injury. This clients complex behaviours, includes verbal and occasional physical outbursts. He can become frustrated according to certain situations or as a result of triggers which cause distress, so we are seeking someone with a calm and understanding demeanour who can handle these situations professionally.
The role is more companionship-focused. The client loves cars and enjoys outings to the pub, so the ability to drive is essential. You'll also help with daily living activities, such as reminding him to take medication and encouraging personal hygiene.
A specialist care plan is already in place, ensuring you will have guidance and support as you care for this individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Engage the client in activities such as car trips and visits to the pub
- Support personal care, including reminders for washing and medication
- Safely manage complex behaviours
- Communicate effectively with the care team to ensure the client's needs are met
