We are recruiting on behalf of Creative Support for a Recovery Support Coordinator. Creative Support is a not-for-profit organisation promoting the independence, inclusion and wellbeing of people with care and support needs. They do this by working with the people they support, their families and partner agencies to deliver innovative, high-quality services to meet individual needs and aspirations.
The Recovery Service Coordinator will develop and oversee a mental health supported living service for people with mental health needs, working in partnership with a range of stakeholders including Housing, Referrers, Care Managers and other agencies. The service is well located for public transport.
You will work with service users, their families, housing and other agencies to assess needs and to plan successful transitions into the service, creating the foundations for greater independence and personal fulfilment. You will ensure that individuals are enabled to make progress in their personal recovery journey and to attain goals relating to their mental health & wellbeing, independence, maintenance of their tenancy, quality of life and community connections. This will be achieved through co-producing outcome-based support plans which build on strengths and assets and promote meaningful occupation, resilience and capacity for self-management.
You will ensure that our services are delivered effectively in accordance with assessed needs, contract requirements, service specification quality standards, and desired outcomes:
- This is a leadership role at the service and involves line management and deployment of the staff team
- You will represent the organisation and promote the service to referrers and potential service users
- This is a role where you will be at the service, overseeing and co-ordinating all aspects of service delivery
- You will liaise with and develop a positive relationship with the housing provider, be responsible for regular reporting and compliance for all aspects of property management
- Assessment, support planning and positive risk management, monthly key working sessions tailored to the individual to deliver and oversee
- Mentoring, supervising and supporting staff including staff development and training
- Organising person-centred reviews
- Enabling pathways to independence and move on as appropriate
- Building positive partnerships with all stakeholders
Duties:
- Lead and supervise staff so as to ensure that the highest levels of performance and standards of work are achieved.
- To co-ordinate and deploy staff resources as efficiently as possible in relation to the needs of clients and the requirements of the service.
- Generate and maintain a customer focused ethos at all times and to ensure excellent working relationships with other professionals.
- To ensure that all staff receive personal support, supervision and appraisal. To take appropriate supportive and corrective action to ensure that performance difficulties are addressed effectively.
- Ensure that staff training and development needs are identified and met. To participate in the planning and delivery of staff training and development activities.
- To ensure that staff understand and are committed to the values and objectives of the service and Creative Support.
- Facilitate team meetings and attend the mental health managers and wider senior team meetings
- To ensure that staff develop and sustain warm and trusting relationships with service users and that staff promote their self-esteem, happiness and emotional health.
- To ensure that staff encourage and support service users in expressing their needs, views and concerns. To enable service users to make choices and decisions and to participate as fully as possible in planning and decision making processes.
- Ensure that staff respect and promote the rights and entitlements of people with mental health needs, and to enable them to participate as fully as possible in their communities. To ensure that service users are offered access to sources of independent advocacy and advice
- Support the Area Manager with the overall quality of the Project and to ensure that it conforms at all times with the service specification and the quality standards and expectations of Creative Support purchasers and stakeholders.
- Ensure effective joint working with partner agencies and the achievement of agreed service objectives. To ensure that each agency performs its separate responsibilities and that excellent communications are maintained.
- Ensure that policies and regulations pertaining to fire, environmental health, lone working, general safety and security are understood and adhered to by all staff, tenants and visitors. To promote a high standard of health and safety awareness. To record and investigate accidents and incidents within the Project and to take appropriate follow-up action.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with all professionals and services in the relevant area.
- Contribute towards effective joint working by maintaining high standards of liaison and communication and by participating in inter agency forums.
