Senior Healthcare Assistant, Highlands and Islands

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Senior Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our team in the Scottish Highlands and Islands, with the exciting opportunity for block bookings on Shetland. This role is ideal for a dedicated Senior HCA who is comfortable taking on additional responsibility, leading shifts, and delivering high standards of care in a care home setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day running of a designated unit or care home, depending on the size of the facility.
• Administer medication to residents in accordance with care plans and regulatory guidelines.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of care assistants, ensuring all residents receive the highest level of care.
• Support the development of personalised care plans and monitor the well-being of residents, addressing any concerns.
• Conduct and document care reviews and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Liaise with healthcare professionals, families, and residents to promote effective care delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of care, medication, and health assessments.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Senior Healthcare Assistant or similar role in a care home environment.
• SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
• Proficient in administering medication and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Understanding of regulatory standards and a commitment to high-quality care.
• Leadership skills and the ability to manage a team during shifts.
• Flexibility to work block bookings on Shetland and across the Highlands and Islands.
