Main Duties of the Lead Therapist:
- Lead and manage a team of therapists, providing guidance, support, and supervision to ensure high-quality therapeutic delivery.
- Conduct assessments of clients within agreed timelines, ensuring thorough and accurate evaluations.
- Oversee and deliver therapeutic support through group sessions and one-on-one interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborate with probation officers and health professionals to contribute to regular client reviews and updates.
- Provide counseling to individuals regarding their substance use and related challenges.
- Support clients in addressing substance use and associated behaviours, including offending.
- Maintain comprehensive records of client attendance, participation, and progress in the group program.
- Develop, implement, and oversee a variety of therapeutic approaches, activities, and exercises aimed at promoting health and assisting individuals through detoxification or stabilisation.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all administrative tasks, including case recording, written reports, and documentation.
- Participate in activities and tasks that directly respond to the needs of clients, as required.
- Foster a collaborative and professional environment, ensuring the team adheres to best practices and delivers consistent, client-centered care.

Qualifications/ Experience required
Essential criteria:
- Experience of direct work with substance misusing clients.
- Member of BACP or NCPS.
- Level 4 or higher qualification in Counselling or equivalent
- Two years’ experience of direct client work with at least one years’ experience of working with substance misusers in a therapeutic setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering therapeutic support programs.
- Hands-on experience providing client services, with a focus on assessments and facilitating group sessions.
- A flexible and open approach with strong communication skills, particularly in leading and managing sessional staff, volunteers, and clients.
- Proven leadership ability to guide a team and foster a collaborative and supportive working environment.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with both statutory and non-statutory agencies.
- Strong planning and administrative capabilities to ensure smooth program operations.
- A commitment to adapting and enhancing treatment programs to meet client needs.
- A solid understanding of the importance of maintaining quality standards, monitoring performance, and compiling relevant statistical data for stakeholders.
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols, including the ability to assess and manage high-risk situations for clients.
