About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Female Team Leader to join a Supported Living service for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in Dudley on a Temporary-to-Permanent contract. This gives you the opportunity to step into a leadership role immediately while working toward a permanent position within the service.

This role is ideal for someone confident in leading teams, delivering high-quality care, and supporting individuals to live meaningful, independent and fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities

Person-Centred Support

  • Ensure individuals receive personalised, empowering support that promotes choice, rights and independence.
  • Support people to access meaningful activities, community opportunities, education, work and leisure.
  • Promote physical and emotional wellbeing through healthy routines, regular health checks and proactive support.
  • Respond appropriately to behaviours of distress using positive, supportive strategies and guidance.
  • Maintain up-to-date Individual Support Plans, Holistic Assessments and Risk Assessments.

Leadership & Staff Supervision

  • Lead, motivate and supervise staff to deliver high standards of practice.
  • Plan staffing effectively and delegate responsibilities to meet individual support needs.
  • Provide coaching, supervision, appraisals and on-the-job guidance.
  • Promote a positive, open and collaborative team environment.
  • Support with recruitment, induction and staff development.

Quality, Safety & Service Management

  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards, organisational policies and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Promote safeguarding, confidentiality, equality and anti-discriminatory practice.
  • Support incident management, emergency responses and health & safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and support with financial oversight related to service users.
  • Participate in an on-call rota as part of the senior team.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.
  • Experience supervising or leading staff teams.
  • Strong understanding of person-centred practice and positive behaviour support.
  • Ability to work calmly and professionally with individuals who may experience distress or challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to assess needs, complete support plans and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with families and professionals.
  • Ability to role model best practice and foster a positive team culture.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, and take part in the on-call rota.
  • Access to a car and ability to drive (essential).
