Job Description

Cucumber Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Support Coordinator on behalf of a well-established Supported Living provider in Blackpool.


This is an exciting Temp-to-Perm opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or Support Coordinator looking to progress their career within Learning Disabilities and Autism services.


The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day management of a busy Supported Living service, ensuring high-quality, person-centred support is delivered to individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism and complex support needs.

The Role

As Support Coordinator, you will support the operational management of the service, ensuring support is tailored to individual needs and delivered in line with person-centred support plans.

You will work closely with Support Workers, families, healthcare professionals and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure positive outcomes are achieved whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality, safeguarding and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the day-to-day operational management of a Supported Living service

• Supervising, supporting and developing Support Workers

• Ensuring person-centred support plans are implemented and reviewed

• Completing and reviewing risk assessments and risk management plans

• Supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism and additional support needs

• Implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies

• Medication management and oversight

• Safeguarding Adults and incident management

• Conducting quality assurance checks and service audits

• Supporting recruitment, induction and staff development

• Building positive relationships with families, professionals and external agencies

• Promoting independence, choice, dignity and inclusion

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• At least two years' experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities

• Previous experience supervising or leading staff teams

• Strong knowledge of Autism, Learning Disabilities and Positive Behaviour Support

• Experience supporting individuals with behaviours that may challenge

• Knowledge of person-centred care and support planning

• Experience completing risk assessments and implementing risk management strategies

• Understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practice

• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills

• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and on-call duties where required


Desirable Experience

• Supported Living experience

• Team Leader or Senior Support Worker experience

• Health & Social Care Level 3 Diploma or equivalent

• Experience within Learning Disability and Autism services

• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
