Job Description

Cucumber Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Team Leader on behalf of a well-established Supported Living provider in Blackpool.


This is an exciting Temp-to-Perm opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, Deputy Manager or Support Coordinator looking to progress their career within Learning Disabilities and Autism services.


The successful candidate will support the operational management of a high-quality Supported Living service, ensuring individuals receive outstanding person-centred support whilst leading, developing and motivating staff teams to achieve the highest standards of care and support.


The Role

As Team Leader, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring support plans, risk assessments and Positive Behaviour Support strategies are effectively implemented.


You will work closely with Support Workers, families, social workers, healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams to promote independence, choice, dignity and community inclusion for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism.


This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead by example, provide coaching and supervision to staff, oversee quality standards and ensure the service remains compliant with safeguarding, CQC and organisational requirements.


Key Responsibilities

• Leading and supervising Support Workers and Senior Support Workers

• Supporting the operational management of a Supported Living service

• Developing, reviewing and monitoring person-centred support plans

• Completing risk assessments and risk management plans

• Supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism and complex needs

• Implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies

• Managing behaviours that may challenge

• Medication management and oversight

• Safeguarding Adults and incident management

• Conducting audits, quality checks and service reviews

• Supporting staff training, development and supervision

• Liaising with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies

• Promoting independence, wellbeing and community participation

• Supporting recruitment and staff retention

• Ensuring compliance with CQC standards and best practice guidance

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• At least two years' experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities

• Previous experience supervising, mentoring or leading staff teams

• Strong understanding of Autism, Learning Disabilities and Positive Behaviour Support

• Experience supporting individuals with behaviours that challenge

• Knowledge of person-centred care and outcome-focused support

• Experience completing risk assessments and support plans

• Understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practice

• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills

• Ability to build positive relationships with service users, families and professionals

• Flexibility to work across evenings, weekends and participate in on-call responsibilities when required

• Level 3 Health & Social Care Diploma or equivalent
