Cucumber Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Support Worker on behalf of a specialist Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Supported Housing Service in Oxfordshire.
This is an excellent Temp-to-Perm opportunity for an experienced Support Worker, Senior Support Worker or Care Team Leader looking to develop their career within Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and Supported Housing services.
The successful candidate will support adults with Learning Disabilities and additional Mental Health needs, helping them to live independently, develop life skills and achieve positive outcomes whilst receiving personalised, person-centred support.
This role offers the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities including shift coordination, staff supervision, rota planning, support planning and mentoring junior team members whilst continuing to provide hands-on support.
The Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will provide high-quality support to adults living within supported housing, promoting independence, emotional wellbeing, recovery and social inclusion.
You will support individuals with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health needs and complex support requirements, helping them to access opportunities, develop confidence and achieve personal goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Providing person-centred support to adults with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health needs
• Supporting individuals with daily living skills, emotional wellbeing and community engagement
• Promoting independence, choice, dignity and inclusion
• Supporting individuals who may display behaviours that challenge
• Developing and reviewing person-centred support plans
• Supporting positive risk management and outcome-focused support
• Medication administration and monitoring
• Completing support records, reports and documentation
• Acting as Key Worker and coordinating support delivery
• Supervising and mentoring Support Workers and junior staff
• Supporting rota planning and shift coordination
• Working collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies
• Participating in CPA reviews, support planning meetings and multi-disciplinary working
• Ensuring safeguarding, health and safety and compliance standards are maintained
