Job Description

Cucumber Recruitment is currently recruiting for compassionate and motivated Support Workers on behalf of a well-established Learning Disabilities Supported Living Service in Newbury.


This is an excellent Temp-to-Perm opportunity for individuals looking to build a rewarding career in Health and Social Care. Whether you already have experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant or are looking to develop your career within Learning Disabilities services, we would love to hear from you.


The service supports adults with Learning Disabilities to live independently within their own homes whilst promoting choice, dignity, independence and community inclusion.


The Role

As a Support Worker, you will provide high-quality person-centred support tailored to individual needs, helping people live fulfilling and meaningful lives.

You will support individuals to develop daily living skills, access their local community, maintain their wellbeing and achieve personal goals whilst encouraging independence and positive outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

• Supporting adults with Learning Disabilities within Supported Living services

• Promoting independence, choice and person-centred care

• Supporting with daily living skills and community access

• Encouraging social inclusion and participation in activities

• Supporting individuals with behaviours that may challenge

• Assisting with medication administration and recording

• Supporting individuals with budgeting and financial management

• Maintaining accurate records and support documentation

• Supporting individuals with mobility needs and moving and handling where required

• Attending support planning and review meetings

• Working collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies

• Promoting safeguarding, health and safety and positive risk management

Desirable Experience

• Learning Disabilities support experience

• Autism support experience

• Positive Behaviour Support knowledge

• Health & Social Care qualifications

• Medication training

• Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
