We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Registered Manager/Project Manager within a Learning Disabilities setting.

As the Registered manager you will develop and coordinate a flexible and high quality twenty four hour service for adults with severe learning disabilities and mental health support needs. To supervise and manage an established staff team, providing person centred support to enable service users to maintain their independence, experience improved wellbeing and enjoy opportunities for personal development. To ensure that all staff works in a positive, person centred and anti-discriminatory manner, ensuring the rights of service users are respected at all times.

Job Role:

    To ensure that the services are provided in accordance with the service specification and the service contract and to comply with monitoring and evaluation requirements. To demonstrate the quality and effectiveness of the service through seeking feedback from service users and stakeholders, collating positive outcomes and ensuring the quality of service delivery.

    To be responsible for the operational management and quality of the service, expected to collaborate with the Housing Provider, local authority and other stakeholders. To ensure that CQC care standards are met and the highest level of customer service is provided in accordance with CQC regulations.

    As Registered Manager for the service you will lead staff to ensure that the highest levels of performance and standards of work are achieved and that the service is delivered in accordance with individual care plans, the contract specification and CQC requirements.

    To co-ordinate and deploy staff resources as efficiently as possibly in relation to the needs of clients and the requirements of the service.

    To monitor and assess attendance, reliability, performance, values and competence of staff through supervision, direct observation and through feedback from clients and stakeholders. Ensure that staff, volunteers, apprentices and students on placement receive personal support, supervision and appraisal in accordance with agency and CQC requirements. Ensure that staff records are up to date and ready for inspection by CQC and senior managers.

    To ensure that staff develop and sustain warm and trusting relationships with service users and that staff promote their self esteem, happiness and emotional health and facilitates service user involvement and peer support.

    To ensure that staff engage with, encourage and support service users in expressing their needs, views and concerns. To enable service users to make choices and decisions and to participate as fully as possible in planning and decision making processes.

    To support service users subject to CTO’s, Sections of the Mental Health Act/Home Office Restrictions and Guardianship Orders to comply with all requirements. To collaborate with the Care Coordinator, RMO or Social Supervisor to effectively manage risk/compliance.

    Project Management and Administration

    You will be accountable for the overall quality of the projects and to ensure that it conforms at all times with the service specification and the quality standards and expectations of Creative Support purchasers and stakeholders. Ensuring that policies and regulations pertaining to fire, environmental health, lone working, general safety and security are understood and adhered to by all staff, tenants and visitors. To promote a high standard of health and safety awareness.

Qualities Required:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience supporting people with a range of mental health and learning disability support needs.
  • At least two years’ practitioner experience of supervising staff and managing services and resources for people with mental health/learning disabilities and other support needs.
  • Possession of DipSW, RNLD, RMN, NVQ 4/5, RMA, Diploma Level 5 or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of recovery approaches and principles in addition to current mental health legislation, services and of the Mental Health Act (1983)
  • Awareness of current approaches and good practice in the provision of support for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs using therapeutic activities.
  • To support service users subject to CTO’s, Sections of the Mental Health.
  • Act/Home Office Restrictions and Guardianship Orders to comply with all requirements. To collaborate with the Care Coordinator, RMO or Social Supervisor to effectively manage risk/compliance.
  • To support service users with a history of offending or who are subject to Probation Orders/Community Sentencing to avoid reoffending and comply with all requirements.
  • Understanding of the rights and entitlements of service users and ability to advocate on their behalf.
  • Ability to engage with service users, and to develop and sustain warm and trusting relationships based on empathy and respect.
  • A high level of customer focus and the ability to lead and manage a team to provide excellent customer service.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to listen to listen sensitively to others.
  • Good numeracy skills and experience of preparing/managing budgets.
  • Ability to carry out comprehensive assessment of an individual’s support needs and to meaningfully plan their care.
  • Ability to devise effective individual care plans, risk management plans and management guidelines in partnership with service users, families and involved agencies.
  • Experience of consulting with service users and families and responding to their views in service development and delivery.
  • Ability to demonstrate personal resilience, initiative, self-motivation, resourcefulness and able to reflect on practice.
  • To be well organised, professional and credible with colleagues from the multi-disciplinary team with the ability to build effective relationships with professionals, other agencies and families of service users.
  • Ability to support and supervise junior staff and provide on the job coaching, personal development and guidance to all staff.
  • Experience of staff recruitment and selection and knowledge of equal opportunities.
  • Experience of developing new services/initiatives in partnership with others and of evaluating and monitoring success.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours according to needs of the agency and service users (including participation in the local on call service)
  • Full, clean driving license and access to a car.
  • Salary:£24,097.00 - £27,000.00 per annun

    Hours of Work:

    37.5 hours per week, to be worked flexibly according to the needs of the service
