We are urgently seeking a strong, experienced Service Manager to oversee two vital supported accommodation schemes in Derby – Centenary House and Newstead House – supporting vulnerable adults and women at risk with a wide range of complex needs.

The Schemes
A 6-bed supported living unit for women at risk – including those affected by domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health issues, and trauma.
A 39-bed supported accommodation service for vulnerable adults aged 18+, many with high-complex needs including mental health, addiction, homelessness, and chaotic lifestyles.

You will oversee a team of 15 staff, including support workers, assistants, and kitchen staff – managing service delivery, compliance, staff development, and resident outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations across both schemes
  • Support residents with complex needs through a person-centred approach
  • Manage rotas, supervise staff, and drive performance improvement
  • Coordinate support plans and lead on crisis intervention when needed
  • Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor service budgets, report on outcomes, and liaise with partner agencies
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, residents, and stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in supported housing, particularly with vulnerable adults, women at risk, and individuals with complex needs
  • Strong background in crisis management, conflict resolution, and high-risk environments
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate staff – ensuring high performance and low turnover
  • Approachable, emotionally intelligent, and resilient leadership style
  • Comfortable managing KPIs, safeguarding responsibilities, and service compliance
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills
  • IT-proficient, including experience with case management systems, databases, and Microsoft Office


Additional Details

  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Contract Length: Minimum 3 months
  • Working Pattern: 2 shift patterns – 7:30am–3:30pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm
  • Enhanced DBS required
  • Salary: £18.42/hour
