About the Role
We are looking for compassionate, reliable Support Workers to join our Learning Disabilities and Physical Disabilities service across Salford on a Temporary-to-Permanent basis.
You will support adults living in their own homes to live full, independent and meaningful lives. This includes promoting confidence, daily living skills, safety, social inclusion and emotional wellbeing.
You will work in a community-based service supporting people to:
- Develop independence and daily living skills
- Build confidence, wellbeing and social connections
- Maintain a safe, comfortable home
- Access community opportunities, leisure and education
- Manage personal finances and tenancy responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Person-Centred Support
- Build warm, trusting relationships and encourage people to express needs, concerns and choices.
- Promote dignity, privacy, emotional health and wellbeing.
- Support people with daily living skills, personal care, hygiene and maintaining their home.
- Assist with community access, social activities, work/education opportunities and meaningful routines.
- Help people manage finances and understand tenancy rights.
Health & Behavioural Support
- Support individuals with physical health needs, including wheelchairs, hoists and mobility assistance.
- Promote healthy lifestyles including nutrition, exercise and regular health checks.
- Use appropriate positive behaviour strategies when supporting people who may present distressed or challenging behaviour.
- Administer and monitor prescribed medication in line with policy.
Professional Standards
- Maintain accurate records, case notes and financial documentation.
- Work safely and responsibly in people’s homes, sometimes without direct supervision.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and safeguarding concerns.
- Collaborate professionally with families, colleagues and external agencies.
- Follow all policies including safeguarding, confidentiality, equality, H&S and infection control.
