About the Role
We are looking for warm, enthusiastic Female Support Workers to join our supported living service in Derby on a Temporary-to-Permanent basis.
You will support adults with learning disabilities, autism and/or mental health needs to live independently, develop skills, and enjoy a fulfilling and valued life.
Your role is centred on building relationships, promoting independence and supporting people to participate fully in their community.
Key Responsibilities
Person-Centred Support
- Build warm, trusting and supportive relationships with service users and families.
- Promote self-esteem, emotional health, confidence and independence.
- Support people to express their views, make choices and be involved in planning their lives.
- Develop personalised support plans in partnership with service users.
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, daily living skills and use of mobility equipment (e.g., hoists, wheelchairs).
Health, Safety & Wellbeing
- Support people with appointments, medication, healthy routines, nutrition and exercise.
- Monitor wellbeing and report concerns promptly.
- Use positive approaches when supporting individuals who express needs through challenging behaviour.
- Follow safeguarding, confidentiality and health & safety procedures.
Community Inclusion & Daily Living
- Support access to community activities, leisure, education and work opportunities.
- Encourage independence in budgeting, organising routines and personal safety.
- Promote meaningful, culturally appropriate and age-appropriate activities.

Professional Practice
- Maintain accurate records, case notes and financial transactions.
- Contribute to reviews and support-planning meetings.
- Work safely without direct supervision in service users’ homes (following training).
