About the Role

We are looking for warm, enthusiastic Female Support Workers to join our supported living service in Derby on a Temporary-to-Permanent basis.

You will support adults with learning disabilities, autism and/or mental health needs to live independently, develop skills, and enjoy a fulfilling and valued life.

Your role is centred on building relationships, promoting independence and supporting people to participate fully in their community.

Key Responsibilities

Person-Centred Support

Build warm, trusting and supportive relationships with service users and families.
Promote self-esteem, emotional health, confidence and independence.
Support people to express their views, make choices and be involved in planning their lives.
Develop personalised support plans in partnership with service users.
Assist with personal care, hygiene, daily living skills and use of mobility equipment (e.g., hoists, wheelchairs).

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

Support people with appointments, medication, healthy routines, nutrition and exercise.
Monitor wellbeing and report concerns promptly.
Use positive approaches when supporting individuals who express needs through challenging behaviour.
Follow safeguarding, confidentiality and health & safety procedures.

Community Inclusion & Daily Living

Support access to community activities, leisure, education and work opportunities.
Encourage independence in budgeting, organising routines and personal safety.
Promote meaningful, culturally appropriate and age-appropriate activities.

Professional Practice

Maintain accurate records, case notes and financial transactions.
Contribute to reviews and support-planning meetings.
Work safely without direct supervision in service users’ homes (following training).
