About the role:
we are looking for experienced support workers to provide a specialist therapeutic approach for young people of both genders. The Therapeutic Approach uses the PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) model of practice and trauma-informed approaches. Staff are trained to recognize behaviors as communication and respond with de-escalation and positive support techniques. Each young person will have an Individual Risk Assessment and Placement Plan coupled with a clear pathway plan/transition plan in place which will be reviewed regularly
Our ultimate ambition is to meet young people where they are emotionally, developmentally and socially. Our approach is to be aspirational, ambitious but always sensitive to the unique individual journey of the young person. This will be achieved through a holistic and bespoke approach to all aspects of their care planning and day to day experiences within our home.
What you’ll do:
- Build safe, trusting relationships and act as a consistent role model
- Use de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies in line with care plans
- Keep clear, accurate records (daily notes, incidents, safeguarding)
- Work flexibly across early/late shifts, long days, sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays
