Job Description

Cucumber Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Registered Manager on behalf of a well-established Extra Care Service in Hull.


This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager, Service Manager, Care Manager, Extra Care Manager, Domiciliary Care Manager or Operations Manager looking to lead a high-quality person-centred service supporting older people and individuals requiring care and support within an Extra Care environment.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational leadership, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, staff management and overall performance of the service, ensuring exceptional outcomes for service users whilst maintaining full CQC compliance.


The Role

As Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the management and quality of the Extra Care service, leading a dedicated staff team to deliver outstanding care, support and customer service.


You will work closely with local authorities, housing providers, healthcare professionals, families and wider stakeholders to ensure individuals receive safe, effective and person-centred support that promotes independence, wellbeing and quality of life.


Key Responsibilities

• Overall operational management of an Extra Care Service

• Maintaining full CQC compliance and regulatory standards

• Leading and developing care and support teams

• Managing safeguarding concerns, incidents and investigations

• Completing assessments, care planning and risk management

• Ensuring high-quality person-centred care delivery

• Managing referrals, occupancy and service development

• Building strong relationships with commissioners and partner agencies

• Managing budgets, resources and service performance

• Overseeing medication management and governance

• Conducting audits, quality assurance reviews and service improvements

• Managing complaints and customer feedback

• Workforce planning, recruitment, retention and staff development

• Participating in the on-call rota

About You

We are looking for candidates who have:

• Previous Registered Manager, Service Manager or Care Manager experience

• Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and quality standards

• Experience managing services for older people

• Experience within Extra Care, Home Care, Domiciliary Care, Residential Care or Community Care

• Experience managing safeguarding, risk assessments and care planning

• Experience supervising and developing staff teams

• Strong leadership and people management skills

• Experience managing rotas, staffing and service delivery

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to build positive relationships with local authorities, healthcare professionals and housing providers

• Strong IT, reporting and administrative skills


Desirable Experience

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care

• RGN, RMN or Social Work qualification

• Degree-level qualification

• Experience managing Extra Care Services

• Experience within reablement, dementia or older people's services

• Business development and service growth experience
